LogHeads Premiere!

July 9, 2014
It's been too long since we posted last. The reason? We've been too busy! Yes folks, we've had such a productive spring and we owe it all to our family, friends, and wonderful clientele. Betsy and I want to specifically thank our husbands, Adam and Josh, for putting up with our crazy schedules, for lending a hand when we need one, and for playing Mr. Mom while we pursue our weekend warrior dreams of event planning and coordination. #besthusbandsever!

One specific project we worked on this spring, the Logs 'n Hogs Rolling for our Hereos Ride, will be featured on an upcoming episode of LogHeads! This new show airs on Great American Country, and the premiere is TONIGHT!  Tune in tonight and each Wednesday at 9:00 pm this summer to see what Tommy, Gwen, and the whole crew at Rocky Top Log Furniture are up to! Be sure to watch in August, and you might spot two of your favorite event planners... hint, hint....

Also, one of our weddings has made it into the pages of Kentucky Bride Magazine! Devon and Matt were married last summer on the grounds of the ever gorgeous Buffalo Trace Distillery. The beautiful wedding was shot by Emma Jaimes Photography and the pictures are as stunning as the wedding itself. Pick up your copy of Kentucky Bride and take a look!

Phone Check, Please.

January 21, 2014
One interesting new trend we've noticed recently is the wedding ceremony phone check. It's a bit like a coat check, but for couples who would rather keep their guests from posting wedding updates on instagram, facebook, twitter, etc. during their wedding ceremony.

We had a bride recently interested in this...and asked, "How do I go about this without pi**ing people off?" Great question...

Some of our suggestions:
 - ask the officiate to make an announcement
 - put a note on the program
 - ask your program attendants to ask guests to silence their cell phones

What ideas do you have?

The Power of Veto

July 8, 2013

Recently, I met with a bride who told me about her power of veto. She wasn't referring to her stint on CBS' Big Brother, but her wedding planning!

Here at Planned to Perfection of the Bluegrass, we have been planning weddings for a long time.
Yet at each wedding we help to coordinate brings new ideas, interesting trends, and unique family traditions. Specifically, this idea of “The Power of Veto" was so cool, we needed to share it!

Would you like to know how it works!?

You know you do...

It's simple. The bride gets three vetoes. The groom gets three vetoes. No questions asked. No debate. No arguments. See, when planning a wedding, ideas are tossed, suggestions are made, colors are chosen, venues are decided upon, food choices are made, etc...etc. The list is seemingly endless. Arguments have been known to happen. Feelings can get hurt, parents (especially when money is involved) want things one way, the engaged couple want it another. The Power of Veto allows a matter to be dropped! Our bride even gave the parents one veto each!

Will you use the power of veto?

Let us know what you think...

Pining for Pinterest!

September 24, 2012

Pinterest, where have you been all my life?

Let's face it. We've all been pining for pinterest. Brides, planners, organizers, stylists, decorators....all the rest of us creative types have been using notebooks full of doodles, sticky notes, and ripped pages from magazines for YEARS. Now, thanks to pinterest, we can throw those notebooks away! Yay!

Although we at Planned to Perfection have been whittling away the hours on pinterest for many a moon now, we have just updated and started our own profile. Very, very exciting...'cause now, not only do we keep up with our personal pinterest pages (PPP's for short), but we manage another! I don't know about you, but I love the idea of getting paid to PIN!

Doesn't get much better than that, does it?
